What I’m working on now
Developing your process as an artist of any kind can be chaotic and frustrating. In working through my own process, I’m developing ways that are working for me and my friends, and writing about it on my blog – towards turning it into a book. If you have stories or input about great ways to create more focused process in your life and work, I would love to hear from you!
Shannon Borg is the author of The Green Vine: A Guide to West Coast Organic, Biodynamic and Sustainable Wines and Chefs on the Farm: Inspired Recipes and Lessons from the Quillisascut Farm School of the Domestic Arts. Her articles on wine, food and travel have been published in Seattle, Washington Tasting Room, Wine Press Northwest, NW Palate, and other magazines. She has also published a book of poetry, Corset, as well as poems in various journals including the Paris Review, London Review of Books, Indiana Review and others.
Shannon Borg holds a PhD in poetry and English literature from the University of Houston, and
an MFA in poetry from the University of Washington. She has taught classes on literature and writing for artists and architecture students at the University of Houston, Seattle Art Institute, Spokane Community College and Hugo House.
In her quest to write a book or project in every main genre, she has also recently completed the
book and lyrics for a musical romantic-comedy production called Manifest This!
Other current projects include a memoir (36 Kitchens: How Neither Here nor There Became
Home), a historical mystery novel about art (The Green Dress), a family history about her 16
great-great grandparents (16 Journeys), and a book of essays (Weaving the Net:
On Becoming an Artist Later in Life)
