How to Create a Shrine

& Use it for Personal Growth

A 4-hour hands-on workshop

February 22, 10am – 2pm, Friday Harbor Atelier, Friday Harbor, WA

Create your own personal shrine during this fun class focusing on how to make a meaningful space for your meditations, card readings, goal settings, prayers, or whatever personal growth rituals you would like to incorporate into your daily practice.

Artist & writer Shannon Borg & assemblage artist Jan Murphy will help you to through the fun, creative process of building a beautiful shrine that is all yours – or as a gift for a lucky friend – and learn about ways to incorporate this creative space into your life.

We will start with a presentation on the history of the shrine in different world cultures, including images and ideas for your project. We will provide a treasure trove of objects you can choose from, some free and some for sale. You can bring your own special objects, materials and tools, like paints, favorite images, quotations, etc. We will have paints, papers, glue guns, glue, some boxes, vintage totems, candles, etc.

Space is limited to 10, so sign up here! Early registration is $85. After February 17, the fee is $95.

Email me with questions at When you sign up, you will receive an email with more information about the process and what you may want to bring. Snacks, coffee & tea provided; bring your own sack lunch.
